The Nuthatch is a common site in at backyard feeders. Getting their name from the bird's odd practice of breaking open nuts and other seeds by slipping them under tree bark, these compact and hardy little birds have a simple and distinctive song. Tending to be year long residents (that is non-migratory) Nuthatches are cavity dwellers, making nests out of hollows in trees or rocks. This sometimes leads them into direct competition for these spots with the Woodpecker. Exceptional felting workmanship makes our highly representational backyard bird ornaments something very special.
